Business Architect - Platform Strategy and Transformation

About the role

Roche is looking for a Business Architect to define and maintain the architectural vision and strategy of the organization, ensuring alignment with business goals and supporting the adoption of Roche's Reference Architecture. You will act as the authority behind the Reference Architecture, promoting reusable, scalable components and standards, and help advance the common platform strategy for digital medical products and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the architecture roadmap and Reference Architecture, keeping solutions scalable, reliable and aligned with the Roche Ecosystem strategy.
• Lead the delivery of technology strategies and blueprints, guiding application integration through standard building blocks and reusable components.
• Promote platform-first approaches, identify technical gaps and develop solutions for data interoperability and event-driven frameworks.
• Partner with Engineers, Product Managers and Sales/Medical teams to ensure consistent technological implementation across customer-facing products.
• Analyze non-functional requirements (security, performance, scalability) and set governance to reduce duplication and strengthen system robustness.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• At least 10+ years of experience in business/reference architecture and shared platform strategies.
• Advanced consulting and communication skills, with a track record of collaborating in cross-functional, global environments and turning business goals into technical roadmaps.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of platform strategies, architectural governance, APIs and shared services models.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and frameworks such as TOGAF or SAFe is highly valued.
• Familiarity with healthcare standards such as FHIR and HL7, and expertise in compliance-based design and industry regulations.
