Credit & Surety Technical Accounting Oversight Expert (Hybrid)

About the role

Swiss Re is looking for a Credit and Surety (C&S) Outsourcing Expert to join its C&S Operations team in Madrid, reporting to the Global Head of C&S Operations. The role calls for strong technical accounting and credit control expertise, including cash management, reconciliations and debt collection, with basic knowledge of taxation aspects. It is a hybrid position with at least three days in the office per week.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the outsourced Technical Accounting team, ensuring delivery against agreed targets, service levels and quality standards.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and act as the central point of contact for credit control topics.
• Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across credit control, working with global teams and Operational Excellence.
• Ensure the right team structure, resource allocation and performance monitoring through KPIs, dashboards and reporting.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure data quality standards are met.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a corporate insurance environment (insurer, bank or broker) in an operational capacity, with proven credit control / technical accounting experience.
• Ideally experience in third-party management, preferably in corporate insurance or technical accounting.
• Proven ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiency.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including influencing and negotiating.
• Fluent English; additional European languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Solid technical skills, particularly in MS Office (Excel)
• Technical accounting and credit control knowledge

What we offer

• Base salary in Spain of EUR 38,000 to EUR 64,000 for a full-time role, depending on profile and requirements.
• Possible performance-based annual bonus.
