Datacenter Networks Engineer (Palo Alto)

About the role

ING Hubs Spain is looking for a Datacenter Networks Engineer (Palo Alto) to join an international team that manages and develops the IaaS technology of ING's cloud platforms. The team works in a complex enterprise environment where network security, uptime and performance are critical, with a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to an agile environment through daily stand-ups, sprint planning and sprint reviews.
• Work with the Product Manager and the squad from a common backlog to deliver shared objectives.
• Take ownership of activities and guide the squad in improving service quality and customer satisfaction.
• Support other squads and act as a trusted advisor when needed.
• Use video conferencing and collaboration tools to connect distributed teams.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with enterprise Palo Alto firewalls.
• Demonstrated experience upgrading and managing firewalls in production, including multiple upgrades on at least 40 firewalls.
• Proven troubleshooting of complex firewall issues (software defects, packet forwarding, routing, HA failovers, VPN, performance, interoperability).
• Experience with firewall vendor TAC/support and direct firewall rule management.
• Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, C1 English, and networking/security certifications.
• Scrum and DevOps mindset, and ability to interface with squads and consumers.

Required skills

• Palo Alto firewalls (preferably PCNSA/E certification)
• LAN, WAN and datacenter environments; routing and switching (BGP, ARP)
• Scripting and automation (Terraform, Python, Ansible, Azure CI/CD) and API integrations (FastAPI)
• Incident, Problem, Change and Configuration management; IAM and vulnerability management
• Cloud deployment and infrastructure services experience is a plus
