Design Engineer – Interior Components for Rail Vehicles

About the role

As a Design Engineer for Interior Components you will join Siemens Mobility’s Rolling Stock HUB in Madrid and help shape the next generation of sustainable passenger trains. You will be responsible for creating innovative interior concepts that combine comfort, safety and modern styling while meeting strict railway standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop interior trim and equipment concepts for new rail vehicles.
• Design assemblies and systems in 3D‑CAD (Creo) and ensure alignment with mechanical and electrical subsystems.
• Coordinate internal and external design teams across international locations.
• Work with project managers, procurement and production to integrate designs, manage tenders and support suppliers.
• Oversee production assembly, guaranteeing quality, regulatory compliance and customer requirements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a comparable field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in interior design of railway vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of material groups such as fiber composites, wood, metals and glass.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Creo (3D‑CAD).
• Experience using PDMLink for product data management.
• Working knowledge of SAP for procurement and project processes.
