Digital Data Engineer

About the role

A Data Engineer position has opened at Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe, within the TDDT Data Integration team of the AD&S Data Management & AI division. You will design, implement and deploy data integration pipelines between Business Systems, Engineering Systems, machines, drones and other sources, using Airbus' integration platforms. You will work in a multi-disciplinary team using classical and agile project management, with end-to-end accountability for solution implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Own integration activities: design, implementation and deployment of data integration solutions for digital projects
• Define integration tasks for new use cases raised by the Product Owner
• Run UATs and deployments in line with the Operation Manager of the product
• Analyse platform performance to maintain SLAs and support migration of pipelines to a microservices, API-based architecture
• Support AI adoption initiatives and data modelling aligned with the semantic layer
• Produce outputs such as data flow diagrams, configuration management documentation, deployment plans, technical metrics, physical data models, quality checks and automated alerts

Required profile

• University degree in an IT-related field
• Over 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer focused on data integration and data quality checks
• Over 5 years of hands-on experience building data pipelines with enterprise integration platforms (ETL, ELT, API platforms)
• Experience with CSV, JSON, XML, relational databases and large-scale on-premises pipelines
• Security clearance or eligibility to obtain one is mandatory
• English and Spanish at negotiation level

Required skills

• Programming for data integration (Python, Flask, Node, JavaScript, Express)
• Relational and NoSQL database querying and management
• Microservices and event-driven architectures, preferably on-premise
• DevOps methods and tools (at least 2-3 years)
• API-based services, data modelling and documentation
• IT project management and basic IT service management knowledge
