Director of IT

About the role

Preply is looking for a hands‑on Director of IT to lead a lean, high‑performing team that keeps its fast‑moving, globally distributed business running smoothly. You will shape the IT function into a strategic driver of efficiency, cost control, and employee experience while introducing AI‑native workflows and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi‑quarter IT roadmap aligned with Preply’s growth objectives, setting tooling strategy and standards.
• Drive AI‑first, automate‑first operations across provisioning, access management, support deflection and asset reconciliation.
• Lead, mentor and mature a small IT team, establishing SLAs, runbooks and a process‑driven operating rhythm.
• Own the global device fleet, identity lifecycle, endpoint compliance and the Barcelona hub’s on‑site technology.
• Partner with Finance and Procurement to gain visibility into SaaS spend, negotiate contracts and eliminate shadow IT.
• Build dashboards and reports for leadership, providing transparent insight into IT health and initiative status.
• Co‑own security and compliance initiatives, ensuring readiness for SOX and SOC 2 audits.

Required profile

• 5+ years leading and scaling IT teams in fast‑growing tech companies.
• Proven ability to balance strategic vision with hands‑on execution (scripting, automation, MDM configuration).
• Deep experience managing international device fleets, identity platforms and endpoint solutions.
• Strong command of SaaS spend management and FinOps practices.
• Data‑driven decision making with experience building and using dashboards.
• Professional fluency in English.
