Embedded Software Engineer - Real-Time Systems

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer in its Embedded Software Engineering department in Getafe (Madrid). The engineer develops and verifies high-integrity airborne real-time software, taking part in the full life cycle from software requirements through to testing and target computer implementation. The role involves leading architectural decisions and leading a specific project.

Key responsibilities

• Work at all levels of embedded software development according to specific software standards (requirements, design, coding, verification, configuration, documentation release, change management and support software QA).
• Partner with Product/Program Managers, System Engineers and Validation to drive software products.
• Take part in planning and scoping of team projects and support Product Owners and PMs in delivering high-quality software on time.
• Deliver high-quality software on time, within cost and quality targets.
• Promote innovation across the department and shape the team structure to maximise agility and efficiency.

Required profile

• Degree in Telecommunications, IT, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Expertise in real-time software, C/C++ and Ada (low-level development), and software verification.
• Experience with design tools (HOOD, Rhapsody), IDEs (GNAT Programming Studio, Eclipse) and verification tools (TestStand).
• DO-178B/C certification.
• High level of English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Real-time operating systems: VxWorks, Linux-RT.
• C/C++ and Ada low-level programming.
• Software verification.
