Finance Manager - Accounting & Admin

About the role

Shalion, a data and insights company serving global manufacturers and brands through digital shelf optimization, retail media and food service aggregators, is hiring a Finance Manager in Barcelona. The role leads the Accounting & Admin team (2 FTEs) and reports directly to the CFO. It is hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote) and combines building new processes, systems and team structure with owning the month-end close and administrative housekeeping.

Key responsibilities

• Own all accounting operations (AP, AR, billing, General Ledger) and ensure accurate monthly and year-end close, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements.
• Oversee multi-currency transactions and lead financial consolidation across Spain and US entities, while monitoring cash flow, bank reconciliations, payment controls and supplier payments.
• Partner with the CFO on reporting and FP&A: variance analysis, board reporting, SaaS KPIs, annual budgeting and forecasting.
• Lead ERP implementation and define accounting processes, and automate administrative workflows.
• Liaise with HR on payroll, oversee external tax advisors for local and international tax compliance and transfer pricing, and work with external legal counsel on corporate books and filings.
• Lead the annual external audit and build financial policies and internal controls.
• Design the team's growth roadmap, hire, onboard and mentor junior finance staff, and safeguard the accuracy of financial data.

Required profile

• 6-9 years in finance/accounting; fast-growing B2B SaaS, VC-backed scale-up or Big 4 background highly valued.
• Fluent English and Spanish.
• Analytical, proactive, hands-on and able to manage a team.

Required skills

• Proven month-end close, financial consolidation and multi-currency management.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish accounting and tax; US accounting and tax exposure a strong plus.
• Advanced Excel; ERP implementation experience is a plus.
• Fluent in SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, churn, CAC payback) and revenue recognition principles.
