Hardware Test Means Engineer – Military Derivatives

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Hardware Test Means Engineer to develop and deliver electro‑mechanical test equipment for military‑derived projects at its Flight and Integration Test Center in Getafe, Spain. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of test means, from specification and supplier selection to validation, verification and final hand‑over to internal customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design electro‑mechanical test means, selecting technologies, instrumentation and materials to meet system requirements.
• Lead technical milestone meetings such as Kick‑Off, Preliminary Design Review and Critical Design Review.
• Evaluate suppliers through Call‑For‑Tender processes and support manufacturing up to delivery.
• Validate and verify designs, perform commissioning and Acceptance Test Procedures before Entry Into Service.
• Ensure health, safety and regulatory compliance while maintaining strong links with the Design Office.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in electro‑mechanical design, validation, verification and project management of test benches.
• Negotiation‑level proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Strong initiative, customer‑oriented communication and ability to work in transnational, multi‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in 3D CATIA V5.
• Electro‑mechanical design expertise.
• Project management methodologies (PDR, CDR).
• LabVIEW and VeriStand programming.
