Laboratory Digitalization Expert

About the role

Roche's Diagnostic Services & Integration chapter, within Documentation & Tools Management, runs the global "Digital Lab" programme for R&D Diagnostics, developing central digitization solutions (electronic laboratory documentation, material and device management, data storage and archiving) with IIT for R&D customers. The Laboratory Digitalization Expert drives the implementation and continuous improvement of digital tools and platforms for Digital Lab across the DIA R&D organization, based in Sant Cugat del Vallès.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of digital tools and platforms for Digital Lab across the DIA R&D organization.
• Represent Digital Lab in different project teams.
• Work closely with lab users, analyze and capture work processes and recommend how digital components fit into daily work, applying Organizational Change Management (OCM).
• Plan and organize the rollout of software platforms with the representatives of the respective chapters.
• Contribute to the local Digital Lab Community of Practice (SMEs from chapters, IT and partners) and help with first-level user support.

Required profile

• Master's degree in natural sciences, engineering or a related field.
• More than 5 years of experience in the diagnostics industry or a related field, mostly in development areas.
• Most of the career spent in or closely linked to the laboratory.
• Ability to take responsibility for technical and organizational content in a matrix organization.
• Project management knowledge and experience applying agile methods.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams across countries and fields.
• Effective English communication; German is a plus.
