Senior Medical Software Engineer - Complaint Handling

About the role

Roche is looking for a Senior Medical Software Engineer in its Post Market Quality (PMQ) function, within the Digital Solutions chapter in Sant Cugat del Vallès. You will handle complaints, safety issues and product inquiries for digital software products (on-premise, cloud, mobile, apps) such as hospital and laboratory information systems, medical data networks, middleware, data communication, apps and algorithms. The role works in an Agile environment, supported by senior experts, and focuses on root cause analysis rather than delivering the final bug fixes.

Key responsibilities

• Handle medical software complaints, safety issues and product inquiries for software products (on-premise, cloud, mobile, apps).
• Independently manage standard cases through their lifecycle, and partner with senior colleagues on complex or critical safety issues.
• Take ownership of transferring unresolved cases to the development department.
• Act as a technical expert, reading and understanding source code to identify the root cause of software malfunctions, and refer to Roche's internal processes to justify decisions.
• Communicate quality-related information promptly to stakeholders and support quality initiatives with senior colleagues.
• Use automation and data analytics skills to improve case handling and proactively monitor product performance data.

Required profile

• Degree in computer science or an IT-related field.
• 2+ years of work experience in software engineering or IT support-related functions.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Solid IT skills, including the ability to navigate and read source code in several languages.
• Eagerness to learn complex system dependencies quickly.
• Automation skills and data analytics experience are a plus.
