Network & Security Engineer (CCN-STIC/ENS)

About the role

A vacancy for a Network & Security Engineer (CCN-STIC/ENS) has opened at Airbus Defence & Space Military Aircraft Weapon Systems CoC in the Madrid area. The position is based at the Spanish Air Force National Support Center (CLAEX, Torrejón Air Base) under a Technical Assistance Contract. The CLAEX Support team provides avionics upgrades to the Spanish Air Force combat fleet, using rigs, software tools, facilities and networks with the required security level.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure and administer LAN infrastructures (switches, routers, VLANs, STP) and private networks (IPSec VPNs, SSL/TLS, secure tunnels)
• Implement and maintain security measures according to CCN-STIC guidelines, covering infrastructure security, communications protection, segmentation and access control
• Ensure compliance with the National Security Framework (ENS) in medium or high-category information systems
• Harden network equipment, monitor traffic, manage firewalls and detect threats
• Take part in network segmentation projects, secure remote access and CCN-STIC audits
• Provide advanced technical support and collaborate with cybersecurity teams
• Maintain the Test Support System "MaTE" in the laboratories/rigs

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Aeronautics or Cybersecurity
• Minimum 3 years of experience administering and securing local and private networks
• Solid knowledge and practical use of CCN-STIC guidelines and courses
• Demonstrable experience in environments regulated by the ENS
• Ability to analyse risks and write technical documentation in line with the ENS
• Intermediate to advanced technical English (desirable)
• Must meet the requirements for HPS NATO (Secret) and Spanish national security clearance

Required skills

• CCN-CERT STIC courses, CCNA, CCNP Security or similar network/security certifications (valued)
• Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks and enterprise VPN tools
• Test Support Systems, especially MaTE for the EF-2000 platform (valued)
• Experience in public administration or entities handling sensitive information (valued)
