Permanent Research Position in Applied Mechanics

About the role

The Applied Mechanics Research Group at the University of Deusto invites outstanding researchers to apply for an Ikerbasque Permanent Position. Successful candidates will join as Ikerbasque Research Associates or Professors, conducting independent, high‑impact research in mechanics, materials and industrial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop innovative research lines in applied mechanics, structural dynamics, fluid and powder systems, and sustainable manufacturing.
• Design and execute advanced computational modelling, laboratory testing, and process‑oriented experiments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external industrial partners for technology transfer.
• Secure competitive research funding and publish results in high‑impact journals.
• Contribute to the strategic growth of the research group and mentor junior researchers.

• Demonstrated scientific independence and leadership potential.
• Proven track record of attracting competitive research funding.
• Ability to develop and lead innovative research programmes.
• Senior‑level experience with a consolidated research career is strongly encouraged.
