Procurement Specialist

About the role

ABB is hiring a Procurement Specialist for its Motion High Renewable Power business in Madrid (San Fernando de Henares office). The role reports to the Procurement Team Lead and ensures the implementation, maintenance and compliance of purchasing-related activities in the Procurement function, supporting the business. It is a hybrid position.

Key responsibilities

• Execute purchasing strategies that optimise the cost, quality and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.
• Design and implement plans and strategies for local sourcing of products and materials to reach business targets.
• Support the implementation of local sourcing strategies in line with business strategy.
• Apply procurement standards, tools and processes in your area of responsibility to secure quality, delivery, cost and sustainability.
• Deliver and take part in training programmes as required to ensure compliance and foster professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical studies or a relevant field.
• At least 5 years of experience in procurement roles in industrial environments such as manufacturing, energy or automation.
• Willingness to travel on business trips worldwide.
• Valid driver's licence in Spain.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electronics is highly desirable.
• Experience working with SAP Ariba is highly desirable.
