Product Certification and Verification Team Leader

About the role

ABB is looking for a Product Certification and Verification Team Leader to lead a team of R&D employees and support them in reaching their agreed R&D targets. The role reports to the R&D Global Unit Lead and contributes to the MOHP BL RP in Spain, with main stakeholders being MOHP BL RP. It is based at the Madrid site, which is the centre of excellence for power electronics, and focuses on the ABB San Fernando de Henares test benches.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and develop the team, manage technologies, platforms and intellectual property, and act as a technical resource for internal and external contacts.
• Plan capacity, people and resources for R&D projects and allocate work to team members while supervising workload.
• Recommend, develop and improve processes, procedures and tools, and ensure knowledge is documented.
• Ensure talent management through coaching, performance feedback and development, and keep all activities within company HSE rules.

Required profile

• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent, with real experience in power electronics validation and certification.
• More than 5 years of experience leading R&D project teams.
• Fluent written and spoken Spanish and English.
• Onsite work is required, as activities focus on the test benches.
