Senior SAP ABAP Developer

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Senior SAP ABAP Developer for its national EWM systems, within an international team of developers spread across Spain, Germany, the UK and India. Knowledge of EWM is highly desirable. The role sits in the ERP Competence & Delivery Center and involves close cooperation with business key users and SAP service or cluster owners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain ABAP code and write technical documentation.
• Work closely with business key users and SAP service or cluster owners.
• Apply and further develop SAP best practices, Golden Rules and Airbus development standards.
• Carry out in-depth root cause analysis and quality and performance improvements.
• Collaborate proactively with international and multifunctional teams throughout the product lifecycle, in an integrated, multidisciplinary and often virtual team.
• Support S/4 strategies for the future SAP landscape in the national ERP area.
• Guide and support junior developers, and act as deputy during the manager's absence.
• Ensure development guidelines are correctly applied in the change management process.

Required profile

• 8 years of practical ABAP programming experience (S/4 HANA experience desirable).
• Strong communication skills in Spanish and English, a must.
• Didactic skills and willingness to coach new colleagues and external employees.
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Certifications in the SAP area are an advantage.

Required skills

• ABAP: module pool programming, DDIC, ALV, function modules, RFC, BAPI, OO, user exits, BAdI, enhancement frameworks, IDOC (EDI), web services, OData.
• Desirable: EWM, QM, CS modules.
• Good knowledge of Adobe Forms programming is required.
