Senior Software Engineer - Lab Connectivity

About the role

Roche is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Lab Connectivity in Sant Cugat, Spain. The role sits in an Agile organisation that designs, implements, delivers and maintains reusable solutions that simplify interoperability between diagnostic solutions (Roche and non-Roche instrumentation, LIS, HIS, edge systems). It supports the design, development, deployment and validation of future connectivity solutions while maintaining the current base of deployments across Roche's R&D departments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the adoption of ASDLC and ways of working in the team while preserving quality standards and good software practices.
• Support the design, development, deployment and validation of future connectivity solutions and maintain existing deployments.
• Lead technical discussions and complex initiatives, influence decisions in your area and connect with business and architecture representatives to deliver customer solutions.
• Build and lead your team, inspiring it to create transformative solutions and influencing their prioritisation across the organisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in CS or a related field with 6+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 4+ years.
• Fluent English and Spanish for agile, cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong problem-solving skills, independence and a customer-centric mindset.

Required skills

• Hands-on C# .NET development, software design patterns, object-oriented design, TDD/BDD and unit/integration testing.
• Deep knowledge of healthcare and laboratory integration standards such as HL7, POCT1-A, ASTM, LIS/HIS.
• Full SDLC ownership, including integrating AI toolsets into development workflows and understanding cloud/frontend technologies.
• Technical leadership, mentoring developers and guiding architecture and AI strategy with product managers and stakeholders.
