Software Backend Engineer

About the role

ING is looking for a Software Backend Engineer to join its Madrid team. You will design, develop and test the code behind the application's components, delivering production-ready software and supporting production by analysing and fixing bugs. You contribute to improving technical discipline within your squad.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test the code of the application components, meeting requirements for functionality, quality and performance.
• Deliver working software in production, including the documentation and parameters needed.
• Support production by analysing and fixing bugs.
• Contribute to improving technical discipline by collaborating with the cross-functional technical group.
• Focus on the backend layer while keeping the rest of the technical stack in mind as part of the squad.

Required profile

• 5 years of experience on a similar technical stack.
• Agile team experience with Scrum, Kanban or XP.
• Excellent spoken and written English is a must.

Required skills

• Java 8/11/17/21, Spring (Boot, MVC, Core, Security, Dependency Injection)
• Microservices: hexagonal architecture, RESTful APIs, OpenAPI, Swagger
• Testing: unit, integration and smoke tests, JUnit, Mockito, WireMock, contract testing
• Maven, JPA, Oracle, JDBC, Git, DDD
• Docker, OpenShift or Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps
• Backend and DevOps awareness of the global architecture and infrastructure
