Software Engineering Intern

About the role

HP Barcelona, one of the world's largest R&D centres, is looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join its Additive Manufacturing R&D teams. The internship is paid, runs from February to June-July 2027 and lasts between 4 and 12 months, with part-time (4 h/day) or full-time (8 h/day) schedules. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Spanish university, stay enrolled until the end of the internship and be able to sign an internship agreement with their university.

Key responsibilities

• Learn how product requirements and system designs are turned into code, following team guidelines and engineering best practices.
• Support the design, coding and improvement of firmware and software features.
• Help create and run tests, document results and investigate issues with team support.
• Contribute to the development of reliable internal tools for the R&D teams.
• Share progress, ask questions and collaborate on technical challenges.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong analytical abilities, teamwork, self-organisation and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
• Fluent English.

Required skills

• Good understanding of C++ and Python.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Knowledge of commonly used AI tools and familiarity with agentic development.
