Sommelier – Luxury Hotel

About the role

Join the Food & Beverage team at Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, a luxury resort in Mallorca, as a Sommelier. You will shape the wine and beverage experience across all outlets, ensuring guests receive expert recommendations and impeccable service.

Key responsibilities

• Design and update wine and beverage menus for each outlet.
• Maintain and manage beverage inventory, rotating stock according to hotel standards.
• Provide wine service, including serving, decanting, and presenting wines to guests.
• Recommend wines and other beverages based on guest preferences, driving upsell opportunities.
• Ensure all glassware and service utensils are in optimal condition and record any breakage.
• Collaborate with kitchen and service teams to align wine selections with menu concepts.

Required profile

• Passion for wine and a deep understanding of grape varieties, regions, and production processes.
• Strong communication skills to explain wine characteristics to guests.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high service standards.
• Team‑oriented mindset with integrity, respect, and a growth‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Extensive wine knowledge (grape varieties, harvest times, origin, aroma, flavour, fermentation).
• Professional wine service techniques (serving, decanting).
• Inventory and stock management for beverage outlets.
