Tech Support / Help Desk Technician

About the role

Cross Border Talents is hiring a Tech Support / Help Desk Technician in Barcelona. The role provides support to internal employees by identifying and solving their requests, acting as help desk for local end users and raising tickets with the relevant IT escalation tiers and following them through. The technician should know both software and hardware and be a critical thinker and problem solver.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and training for end users on all IT hardware and software services.
• Install, configure and monitor software and hardware such as applications and printers.
• Manage user access and permissions, mainly via Active Directory and Office 365.
• Install and support Windows OS.
• Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Maintain the IT asset inventory (hardware and software).
• Negotiate and purchase hardware and software from local vendors.
• Work with the global team on ticket escalation and back-office projects.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for IT systems.

Required profile

• 3+ years of proven experience as an IT Help Desk technician or a similar role.
• Excellent organizational and coordination abilities, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• High service orientation, strong customer focus and excellent communication skills.
• High-level English, spoken and written.
• Self-learning capabilities.

Required skills

• Strong hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Experience with Microsoft environments, including Windows and Office.
• Knowledge and experience in networking.
• Experience with ticketing solutions (an advantage).
