Thermo-Mechanical Design Engineer – Flight Units

About the role

Airbus CRISA is looking for a Thermo-Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Flight Units Assemblies team in the Madrid area. The role focuses on developing and delivering electronic equipment for space launchers, Earth observation, and exploration missions, ensuring compliance with schedule, cost, and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse project requirements and define mechanical and thermal architecture at module and unit level.
• Perform thermodynamics, heat‑transfer, and mechanical analyses (static, dynamic, vibration, shock) to guarantee robustness across mission scenarios.
• Document designs, analyses, and support technical reviews such as Requirement Review, Preliminary Design Review, and Critical Design Review.
• Assist test teams during qualification and acceptance, monitoring changes and resolving non‑conformities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum five years of experience in thermodynamics and mechanical design for space applications.
• Fluent in English (C1) and Spanish.

Required skills

• Thermodynamics and heat‑transfer analysis.
• Mechanical analysis including static, dynamic, vibration, and shock response spectrum.
• Finite‑element tools: Hypermesh, Femap, Nastran NX.
• Scripting/automation: Python, TCL, Bash, C/C++.
• Knowledge of space environment constraints and Agile methodologies.
• Fast hardware prototyping techniques.
