Técnico/a de Higiene y Seguridad Alimentaria – Occidental Jandía Playa

About the role

The Food Hygiene and Safety Technician will ensure that all hygiene, sanitary and food safety standards are met at the Occidental Jandía Playa hotel. You will work closely with kitchen, storage and service teams to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise compliance with hygiene, sanitary and food safety regulations, including HACCP/APPCC and good handling practices.
• Implement and monitor preventive programs for sanitary risks, proposing corrective actions when needed.
• Conduct internal audits in kitchens, warehouses, service areas and common zones to verify hygienic conditions.
• Control water quality through analysis of drinking water, pool water and Legionella prevention plans.
• Train and raise awareness among staff on hygiene, food safety and operational best practices.
• Prepare reports and keep sanitary documentation up‑to‑date for external inspections and audits.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in similar roles within hotels, restaurants, catering, food industry or health‑control companies.
• University or technical degree in Food Engineering, Safety & Hygiene, Microbiology, Nutrition, Environmental Health or related fields.
• Proven knowledge of local sanitary regulations and good handling practices.
• Strong attention to detail, operational leadership, teamwork and effective problem‑solving.
